Hot Vinyasa

Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic, flowing form of yoga connecting the movement from one pose to the next with the breath. Practice to music and challenge your endurance, flexibility and strength. Great compliment to the Hot 26 Series. Some yoga experience is helpful, but not necessary.

Burn Classes

This BURN Class is a really fun fusion of Yoga poses and light weights in the heat, set to great music. Target specific muscle “burn” zones and build lean muscle mass. 

Energizing cardio workout to burn fat calories and tone your entire body in 60 minutes! Great addition to your Hot 26 and Vinyasa practice. We have 2 & 3lb weights; bring heavier if you like.



Therese Civitello, RYT has been part of our Studio and practicing hot yoga (& lovin’ it) for over 7 years and recently became a Certified Instructor through Fire-Shaper. Her open heart, drive for perfection, and contagious energy will make this workshop informative and a ton of fun. We’re so excited to have her bring this BURN class to HYRB!

Burn Workshop

Restorative Yoga Workshop
When: Saturday, Dec 2nd

Restorative Yoga is a unique experience of being, rather than doing. We spend our lives in constant motion and although we sleep, we rarely take time to just rest. Using various props to support the body, you will relax deeply into restorative postures in a passive and meditative way. Release tension, soothe your nervous system, lose the stress of every day life and surrender yourself to this wonderful 90 minute vacation.

Restorative Yoga

Judi Hamsa Spagnola, RYT/TRM is Integral Yoga Certified and has been teaching various styles of yoga for more than 35 years. She created and developed the Gentle/Chair Yoga Teacher Training Program & Manual for The Integral Yoga Institute and teaches for the MS Society. She teaches stress management, meditation and offers Reiki Healing Circles throughout NY & NJ. Judi is a Traditional Reiki Master and Interfaith Minister of Spiritual Healing, who shares her knowledge with compassion and an open heart.

MIND OVER MATter Workshop
When: Sunday, Dec 10th

MIND over MATter combines the healing and meditative benefits of yoga postures with the self-reflection and refined awareness achieved through thoughtful writing. Explore how journaling can help build a constructive interior dialogue with your practice. This workshop will alternate coordinated writing prompts and yoga poses, deepening the yoga experience.

  Bullet Develop an understanding of how we translate instructions into movement.
  Bullet Focus the mind/body connection during times of stillness, motion and emotion.
  Bullet Create a personal context for the idea of a "moving meditation".

Yin Yoga Workshop

Claire Van Winkle, CYT has been part of our Studio and teaching Hot26 and Vinyasa classes for over 7 years. In addition, she is an award winning poet and public speaker, writing therapist and teaches literature, writing and grammar at Queens College, BMCC and FIT. She also heads the Rockaway Writers' Workshop. Her tremendous knowledge of the English language, love of creative writing and desire to share it with her students, makes this a "Don't Miss It" Workshop.

 
Yin Yoga Workshop

Yin Yoga is known as the "quiet, meditative yoga" and perfect for the beginner yogi and advanced practitioner.

  Bullet Allows you to access and stretch the deeper connective tissue and fascia, critical to our physical well being and range of motion.
  Bullet Postures are held for several minutes, allowing you to relax into a pose, soften the muscle and move closer to the bone.
  Bullet Enjoy more flexibility in the joints & connective tissue, calming & balancing to the mind and body, better ability to sit for meditation.
  Bullet This practice of "quiet power" encourages students to explore energetic principals, cultivate compassion and refine awareness.

Yin Yoga Workshop

Christine Walker, RYT/LMT began practicing yoga more than 15 years ago with her mentor, Anita Ruderman. She started her yoga teacher training at the Yoga Institute of Houston in Texas and at the Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica. Her continued professional studies in Massage Therapy and knowledge of Vipassana Meditation have helped her to maintain a creative edge in her own practice and her teaching. She encourages her students to develop a personal and authentic relationship to their individual practice by making yoga accessible, effective and enjoyable. HYRB and the students love Christine!
