There are soooo many reasons why hot yoga has been a lifesaver. I have been recovering from Hurricane Sandy, I hate the cold weather and have several health conditions. My first day led to the completion of the 30 day challenge that, although challenging, was a miracle worker to my mind, body and spirit. I am a better, healthier and whole person. Anita and the staff make it a pleasure to come. Everyday I looks forward to sweating my guts out. Who says that?

After practicing only once a week for 6 months, as well as completing a 30 Day Challenge that just ended, my life has been transformed. Longstanding, severe back pain is completely gone. I can wear flat shoes again for the first time in many years. Enduring a lifetime of a chronic respiratory disease, I've gone from taking an inhaler multiple times a day, every day of my life, to now taking it once a week at most. I lost 10lbs. unexpectedly & toned up, too. My flexibility is the best its ever been & my energy levels have shot up. Everyone in my life notices a complete change in me & I am eternally grateful to Anita & all the other teachers at Hot Yoga Rockaway Beach. This is the place were miracles really happen, but you'll have to earn them the hard way! I sure did.

I have to tell you how incredible the hot classes have been for my body, mind, and spirit. I thank you, and my family thanks you....I had been dealing with alot of anxiety due to having to leave my family for long weekends to play gigs out of town. Since I started taking class, the anxiety literally melted away. I feel strong inside and out! thank you so much!

The 30 day challenge was a huge accomplishment for me. My body and posture have changed significantly and I have never felt better. I recommend it to EVERYONE. I can't wait to do it again!

I took 30 classes in 30 days.
I've dabbled with Yoga for a few years, but was never really able to commit or get into it. Looking for a way to reenter the practice, I thought Hot Yoga might fit the bill. Initially, I really wondered what I was getting myself into, taking challenging positions in a superheated--temperature wise--environment. Each day, I made progress, sometimes small, but it was there; gaining greater flexibility, stamina and discipline. The teachers were supportive, and tasked me to do my best. I think I achieved something substantial and feel empowered having taken this on and made it through. I recommend it to anyone who wants to feel better & centered.

I took 30 classes in 30 days. This experience has been extremely challenging, life-changing, exciting, calming and ultimately the most incredible experience. We are all so fortunate to practice in this studio with such dedicated, caring, fun and motivational instructors and great support for each other.

Thank you for convincing me to try Hot Yoga. I'll admit I was petrified that first class but made it through.... that night I slept soundly for 7 hours for the first time in two years. I was still doubtful that one class made this difference, I returned the following night and again slept like a log, I was hooked, and after each class noticed my energy level was better and better, I was more patient, no more anxiety or hot flashes.... I can go on and on but I think you get the message. You've put the color back into what had become a black and white existence. I can't thank you enough. Did I mention that I am 55 years old and have been dealing with a roller coaster of hormonal changes the last few years, I had almost resigned myself to the fact that I would never see my old self again. Guess What.....She's Back!!!
Everyone needs to try Hot Yoga, regardless of your age or fitness level, you will benefit from it.

As a lifelong athlete, martial artist and fitness buff, I have had my fair share of fitness related injuries. I had practiced hot yoga on and off since about 1999; mostly off due to lack of a convenient studio. Then, the unthinkable occurred. I suffered a sports injury that resulted in a total knee reconstruction. Devastated due to my inability to work out and slow recovery, I decided to dedicate myself to renewing my hot yoga practice. The results have been astounding. I have regained almost 100% of my mobility and range of motion, and I owe my progress to hot yoga. Today I am pain-free and back to all of my favorite sports, including running!

….at the end of the 90 minutes, I feel like someone came in and scrubbed my mind free of all the stuff I don't need in there. Even though I’m working very, very hard to follow the instructions and hold the pose – and breathe! -- it is truly a moving meditation.

I have been doing yoga since 1972 and have experienced many yoga styles and teachers. I have found Anita's hot yoga class to be constantly and consistently the most enjoyable yoga I have ever done. She is one of the very few teachers whose class you can take every day and not be bored. If you have never taken her class you don't know what you are missing; she makes every class fun and enjoyable. I would highly recommend the studio; bright, clean, beautiful and the heat is perfect. Since starting hot yoga I quit smoking, lost 30 lbs. and feel the best I ever have in my entire life.
